View system entitlements

Unisphere supports electronic licensing (e-Licensing). e-Licensing is a license management solution to help you track and comply with software license entitlement.

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Click Settings icon.
  3. In the Settings dialog, click System and Licences > System Entitlements.

    Use the System Entitlement list to view all licensed features (including those features that are licensed with storage system-based entitlements and host-based keys, which are still required) on the storage systems. In addition, you can obtain and install license files on the storage systems.

    The License Usage information is displayed for the first of the listed storage systems. You can select a storage system from the drop-down list to view its license usage information.

    The following properties display:

    Feature Name Name of the feature.
    License Indicates whether the license is host-based (SE) or storage system-based (EMCLM).
    Status Indicates whether the license is Enabled or Disabled.
    Expiration Date Date an evaluation license expires. For permanent licenses, this field appears blank.

    The following controls are available:

    • Details icon—To view details of a license file that is installed on the storage system, hover over the entry and click Details icon (see View license file).
    • Get File—Opens the support website, from which you can obtain a license file (by downloading or through email). Download or copy a license file to the SMAS server before applying it to a storage system.
    • Load File— Install licenses
